Summary
Mechanical filter housing is also called pressure filter housing or multi-media filter housing. As the pre-treatment of pure water filtration, it is an important part of water pure system. The material of housings is steel with inner rubber lining or stainless steel.
Classification
The application and function vary from different filter media such as quartz sand, activated carbon and manganese sand. The filter housings can be used individually and combined as per actual situation.
1.The media of multi-media filter housings is quartz sand and anthracite coal. The function of this filter housing is to filter out suspended matter mechanical impurities and organics to reduce turbidity of water.
2.The media of activated carbon filter housing is activated carbon. The function is to adsorb and remove pigments, organics, residual chlorine and colloids in water.
3.The media of manganese sand filter housing is manganese sand. The function is to remove divalent iron ions in water.
Applications
Mechanical filter housing is used in the water treatment process. It is mainly for the turbidity removal of water treatment, the pre-treatment of reverse osmosis and the ion exchange softening and desalination system, and the silt removal from surface water and ground water. The degree of feed water turbidity shall be less than 20 and out water turbidity can be less than 3.
It is used in numerous filtration applications including electronic power, petrochemical industry, metallurgy electroplating, papermaking textile, pharmaceutical dialysis, food&beverage, drinking water, factory water, and swimming pool etc.
